The Cyprus Peace and Dialogue Center (CPDC) is an independent, bicommunal initiative bringing together Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots. We are united by the belief that a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus problem, based on a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation with political equality, is urgently needed for the future of our island.
Drawing from diverse professional backgrounds – history, education, law, diplomacy, sociology, and civil society – our members are committed to promoting inclusive dialogue, civic engagement, and grassroots cooperation. Independent from political parties or state institutions, CPDC places civil society at the heart of peacebuilding.
Cyprus: Background
The Cyprus problem remains one of the longest unresolved conflicts in the modern world. Nicosia is the last divided capital city in the world. This decades-old, protracted problem persistently intertwines the island’s future with its past, creating uncertainty among its population. However, the impact is far more wide-reaching than solely for the two main communities of Cyprus (Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots).
