The Cyprus Peace and Dialogue Centre (CPDC) hosted an informal high-level bicommunal dialogue bringing together prominent political figures, former officials, academics, and civil society actors from both communities.
Among the participants were former Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akıncı, former chief negotiator Özdil Nami, former AKEL leader Andros Kyprianou, former Ministers of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides and Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis, former European Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou, as well as other long-standing contributors to peacebuilding and public life in Cyprus.
The participants exchanged views on the current state of the Cyprus issue, assessed recent developments, and reflected on possible ways forward at a time when renewed diplomatic efforts are underway.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to review the CPDC–Apofasi Eirinis Joint Declaration, which participants endorsed as a timely and constructive contribution to ongoing discussions on how a future peace process could be structured.
