During the meeting, we provided a briefing on CPDC’s ongoing work, with particular focus on inclusive, structured and results-oriented peace process design, civic participation, and our efforts to support meaningful bicommunal dialogue. We also exchanged views on current developments on the Cyprus issue and the importance of sustained engagement by political actors, civil society and citizens.

We thank the Embassy of Japan for its interest in CPDC’s work and for the constructive discussion.

The Embassy of Japan delegation included Ms. Mayuko Hori, Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission; Ms. Sophi Elsamni, First Secretary, Political and Economic Section; Mr. Ahmet Tözün, Political Analyst; and Mr. Marios Touvanas, Political Analyst.

CPDC was represented by Dr. Meltem Onurkan-Samani, Yaren Müezzin, Çağla Elektrikçi and Ülke Samani.
